RSPB, supported by Hanson UK has delivered a short project this year to help better connect local communities to RSPB Ouse Fen nature reserve. We held a workshop in April and invited the local residents of Bluntisham to come and help us design a circular walk, choose some enhancements to do along the walk and some features to include on an illustrated map. We had two very knowledgeable people attend the workshop and an artist was commissioned to produce the illustrated route map. We held a work party in July where we installed two benches along the route. We advertised the map and invited people to come along to a guided walk in August and 7 people attended. Other improvements that are underway along the walk include perching posts in the lake and the replacement of a wooden kissing gate with a large metal mobility gate. The map is shown below.
